Full Marathon

The Marathon / Half Marathon races start and finish at the same location (McNary Heights Elementary School - 120 Columbia Ave Umatilla, OR 97882).  Both races reach McNary Dam just after the first mile.  With a 5 mile loop on the Washington State side you come back over to Oregon on the pedestrian path over the Hwy 82 Bridge and back by the McNary Dam.  You then climb back up to the start; the Half Marathon will turn back at the 11.5 mile mark and finish at McNary Heights Elementary School.

The Marathon continues on back down to the Columbia River and along the Lewis and Clark Trail which links up to Hat Rock State Park, although this is a flat section of the course it will be challenging running on the soft surface trail between 13 and 18 miles.  It’s a good time to take it easy and enjoy the beauty of the Columbia River.  After leaving Hat Rock State Park you will turn back towards Umatilla running along the mostly flat Columbia River Hwy.  This marathon is challenging but beautiful.
